Re:define Re:pair

Re:define Re:pair“ is a project that explores the future of repair, focusing on the aesthetics, form, and functionality of repairing everyday items. Many broken plastic products are discarded rather than repaired. Through numerous experiments using modern technologies like AI, 3D scanning and printing, 3D modeling, and generative design, this project seek a new aesthetic of repair.

The project draws inspiration from ancient repair techniques, such as the Japanese Kintsugi and Wabi-sabi concepts, as well as from nature, where trees, plants, and bones exhibit self-healing properties.

By highlighting rather than concealing imperfections, we learn to appreciate flawed objects. This prompts us to reconsider our aesthetic standards and manage our expectations regarding perfection.
